Happy Father's Day, Leon!

I am married to the best father on the planet. I've been working crazy 3rd shift overtime hours because we have a goal. We took the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace course. So anyway we have goals. And some of our goals we want to reach fast.

So the entire month of June is being spent focusing on those goals. We are being "gazelle intense" and this means we don't have time or money for much else right now. The opportunity to make a lot of money fast means I don't get to spend much time with or on my family.

Father's Day came and we acknowledged the day, but not with money or even time. But Leon put a good spin on it. He took the kids to church this morning. When they got home they watched some tv together, did laundry together, ironed our work clothes together, cooked together, and sanded the back deck...together. (At the end of the day Kelsea said, "I think Daddy is just using all of this "together time" to get more work out of us." Haha. I think she's on to him.) He spent the whole day being a great dad.

Busy With Scouts

On June 5th Joshua, Jeremiah, Kelsea, and I went to work at the Butner Chicken Pickin'.

Meanwhile that same weekend, Leon went camping with the Boy Scouts at Isley Farm. I dropped Joshua and Jeremiah off with them that evening after the Chicken Pickin'.

Then that Monday we had a very important Pack Meeting. The boys both earned all of their ribbons for the 100 Year Celebration. They had to put in a lot of community service to earn these.

Then, last Friday night, Leon took the boys to Scout Night at the Durham Bulls Stadium. They camped out on the field after the game.

More Fishin'

Leon took the boys fishing after they got back from camping at the Durham Bulls game. They can't seem to get enough of the sport these days. It's becoming an obsession. :D

This is a pretty good shot of the snake they watched for a while that day. Very cool. I think it's a Water Moccasin.

Happy Birthday Jeremiah

We met Leon after work for dinner out in honor of Jeremiah's day.

Photobucket

He chose the Chinese Buffet.

Photobucket

He ate chicken nuggets and french fries. HA!

Photobucket

He had his favorite cake. He asks for the same thing every year.

His brothers pooled together and bought him a very cool sword.

He now sleeps with it at night.

He also picked out a WebKinz at the store. Mostly he just wanted cash to save up for something big. haha

Jeremiah

Photobucket

He's still the same boy he was a year ago. His daily objective is to keep up with his brothers. Not an easy feat, but he holds his own. He still love dinosaurs and things that go fast. He excels in math, but struggles with reading. Though he is coming along pretty fast this summer with some extra work.

His best friend is his cat, Vader. They go hunting in the woods together, and lounge around the house when it's too hot (or cold) to be outside. Jeremiah's imagination knows no bounds and he can keep himself, and the cat, entertained for hours on end.

"Two Worlds" Class 4
This is the class's Turkmen-dance. Kelsea was having so much fun on stage with this one. Her smile was just absolutely radiant. It helps that the song was upbeat and energizing.

"Pray Now" Kelsea Baker, Sandi Dalton, Amelie McCrae, Erin McCrae, and Merilee Nixon

These girls originally did an April Fool's prank on Jo-Ann Stevens. They choreographed a dance to the song All Star by Smashmouth. They did a fantastic job. And they really seemed in earnest when they presented their work to her. However, Jo-Ann found a parody to the song called "Pray Now" and the girls performed their piece at the recital. Joke was on whom?

"Step of Faith" Class 4

Kelsea did one other dance, "What Faith can Do" Class 4, but none of my pictures came out well. She has had a very busy season. She worked hard and pulled off six dances, 3 of them back to back. This means SUPER fast costume changes. She did an amazing job and didn't miss a single beat.

I'm so proud!
