Summer T.V.

Guess what we're watching.

Thundercats

I was so excited to see these DVDs on Blockbuster.com.

Thundercats are on the move
Thundercats are loose

Thundercats

Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats!

A quick google search reveals a rumor of making the movie. Apparently Vin Diesel will be playing Panthro. I think I like that idea.

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath, and then type the first five things you think of when you think of summer.

I think of time in the sun, chlorine in the swimming pool, fireflies and june bugs, radio playing outside, and smoke from the grill.

Building a Set

The kids and I went to help a friend build a set for VBS.

Submarine

This is the first time they've ever done anything like this. We all had so much fun. The kids want to build a set at home and put on a play. I think we might even do it.

Finish this sentence: "Life is good when..."

I'm with my family.

Down by the River

It was a gorgeous day. We finally had a break from the 100deg+ weather. It topped out at 90deg today.

The boys took the water like happy little clams.

Speaking of clams:

My city boy. He would not get in the water. There might be snakes. I tried to reason that he swims in the ocean every summer. He said it's just different. We gave him a thorough teasing for it.

The girls were so happy to find a spot where they could actually swim.

Picture of the Day

While the boys were playing in the water hose. I was relaxing, taking pictures, sunbathing, and listening to my I-pod. I also watched the bumble bees in the clover.

It took me back to when I was a kid and would just sit and watch the little things going on. Like the rain trickling down my window in the car while Dad was driving. The ants rebuilding their hill that I just walked on. The clouds in the sky. I don't do that often anymore, but every now and again I'll sit and daydream.

Beating the Heatwave

Still in a major heatwave here. It is hot and miserable (over 100deg again today).

Name one thing you would change about your wedding and why. There is a restriction though. You can't change the groom.
One thing I would change about my wedding would be to have my wedding and my reception on the same day. I was preggars with Ishmael when Leon and I were engaged. I decided getting married before he was born was very important to me. I also decided I didn't want to be pregnant at my reception. I also wanted family who were going to come from across the country to be able to meet my new baby. So I was married on February 4 at the JOP, Ishmael was born February 25, and we had my reception on April 17.
So, I think I would like to have had a more traditional type of wedding. Though, in the circumstance we were in, getting married quick was a necessity.
I wouldn't change the groom for anything in the world ;-) .

HOT! HOT! HOT!!

We were supposed to go to the zoo today. It was just too hot. The animals wouldn't have even been out to make it worth enduring the heat. I'm so glad we went last week.

So instead I took the kids to my job to let them swim.

Jeremiah's birthday fell on 6-7-8 very cool numbers.

6 Years Old

Six years old seems too grown-upish to be the "baby." It's a bittersweet feeling; knowing he's the last, yet rejoicing in his growth. He starts 1st grade this fall, which means "real" school work.

He still has mispronunciations like:

instering : interesting

mesnin : medicine

sneasoning : seasoning

shashage : sausage

He's still very much into dinosaurs. Only now nstead of calling them "long neck", "three-horn", and "small feet", he calls them Apatosaurus,Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus Rex.

He's full of his own thoughts now, instead of the days when I could just tell him what to think. I'll miss those days. He's very much into doing things the right way and not to kean on shortcuts. I'm very interested in seeing how this plays out when he becomes a man.

He's our funny man and still loves to have his picture taken, while everyone else groans and tries to hide. He's has an adventurous quality that we try to keep somewhat tame. There isn't much he's afraid of. But in his favor he doesn't shy away from a challenge.

As the youngest everyone dotes on him. They are also quick to put him in line on the pecking order when he goes too far.

This child is very affectionate and loves to give hugs. He's the most like his father this way. He doesn't mind when we pick on him for his cute and funny things, (I'm afraid he eats up the attention).

Happy Birthday Jeremiah!!! 6 is going to be fun!

GREAT movie!! It's the best thing Dreamworks has ever done.

The fight scenes were very cool. I haven't enjoyed a cartoon since Cars. This was fun!

Zerrick

Z is 14 and almost never says, "Come see what I can do!" So when he does I have to grab the camera.

Painting T-Shirts

We painted on pictures of Lions using RIT Dye. The kids drew traced the lions onto the t-shirts with fabric markers and then brushed on the dye with paint brushes. It had a really cool effect. They did use paint for the eyes and tongues.

We are going to the Zoo with this family on Monday and all the kids will wear their shirts. They are excited!

Jeremiah and Play-doh

I've been going outside to sit with Jeremiah in the early afternoons. Everyone else has math work to do. So I go sit in the sun and Jeremiah plays in the shade.

Kid is serious about his Play-doh. He sets his mat out just so:

He really is too cute.

When I come inside for more water I see Joshua hard at work. He is such a good student. I give all the kids a weeks worth of math on Mondays. Joshua is almost always done by Thursday. He's so good at it too. He makes strait "A's."

Jeremiah was right behind me to show his big brother his hard work.
