Roller Skating

I love roller skating. I have loved it since I got my first pair of skates when I was 9years old. They were white with purple laces. I'd skate around in our garage and play Debbie Gibson. When we moved to North Carolina, my friend Summer and I would go to Skate World almost every weekend. We'd skate from the time they opened, until they kicked us out at closing.

Joshua is an old pro now, since he earned his Roller Skating Beltloop last summer.

Leon was a speed skater as a kid. I never knew that.

Jeremiah had a really hard time at first.

But then we took his skates back up to the counter and asked the lady to tighten his wheels a little. After that he got the hang of it real quick.

This was Ishmael's first time at the skate rink. He's played on roller blades before, but 4 wheel skates are a tad different. He adjusted very quickly and had a great time.

Of course, half the fun of skating is buying treats at the snack bar.

Kelsea is so stinkin' cute. I want to kiss her. In front of people.

Friday Night Livingroom Campout

The boys planned a little party for themselves. It included lots of goodies and plenty of time to play the Playstation.

Aren't they just peachy.

Kelsea even joined them much later on.

Family Game Night

I've said this before, we love games. Seriously, we play a lot of games together as a family. So what do we do for Memorial Day Weekend? We play games. Lots of games...and snacks. Nothing goes better with family game night than a big bowl of cheese puffs and strawberry sodas.

These are my children:

Tonight

We had a nice day and a relaxing evening.

The kids worked together so peacefully to cook dinner. Ishmael made the corn bread. Joshua made the spaghetti. Kelsea made the chocolate chip cookies.

The best night ever! I am so blessed!

A Very Merry Unbirthday

It wasn't really his birthday. It's still more than a week away. But since Leon's schedule is so crazy, we celebrated a little early.

Chocolate on chocolate is always a winner in our home.

We also played games. Our current favorite is Snorta! From the makers of Apples to Apples. Lots of laughs over this game!!

What's Everyone Up To?

You know how you can get so absorbed with whatever you are doing on the computer that you look up and realize A LOT of time has gone by. So then you wonder where everyone is and what they are doing.

Kelsea was being a sweet big sister and playing Electronic Battleship with Ishmael.

What's Everyone Up To?

What's Everyone Up To?

Joshua and Jeremiah were buddied up in Kelsea's room watching The Aristocats.

What's Everyone Up To?

Leon was watching tv in our bedroom. He had made himself comfortable (forgoing pants) so I'll spare you a picture.

Princess Pepper was being a bunny. She's very good at it.

Summer T.V.

Guess what we're watching.

Thundercats

I was so excited to see these DVDs on Blockbuster.com.

Thundercats are on the move
Thundercats are loose

Thundercats

Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats!

A quick google search reveals a rumor of making the movie. Apparently Vin Diesel will be playing Panthro. I think I like that idea.

Thundercats

Thundercats HO!!

Slumber Party

Leon went out of town for a few days. The kids and I decided to crash in the living room together for the 2 nights he was away.

Photobucket

Mostly we watched movies, ate pizza and ice cream, and I beat the kids at Blokus. We played several rounds of the game. Zerrick is determined to beat me. I'm surprised at how much they all love the game. Did I mention that I rock at this game?

Photobucket

It was oh so cozy.

I missed Leon terribly, but it was a nice little adventure.

This says "home" to me:

The kids and I have been studying the Great Depression. So of course we had to watch The Waltons. Great show! Butter pecan ice cream just topped the whole evening off. Thinking of you Mom! Love ya!

What Happens When the Freaks Step Out At Night

The evening started out just fine. This homeschooling family left the confines of their home to enjoy what they expected would be a good old fashioned night of family fun. You see, in our world bowling is something that is done during daylight hours while the prices are cheap and lanes are empty. We decided to do something different.
Leon and I knew about "Extreme Bowling" only in our hey day it was called "Cosmic Bowling." The kids were shocked. These poor unsocialized people were not expecting a light show.
So they did what any freak would do.

They attempt to invent their own version of the game. Synchronized Bowling anyone?
They consume large amounts of "adult" drinks, pumping their bodies with sugar and caffeine.

They recreate their home environment to feel more comfortable. Life would be meaningless if there were a clean table to sit at.
Think he might be more impressed with the light show than with bowling? Nah, he's just watching for the dancing bowling pins on the tv screen, you gotta be quick to catch 'em. TV...oooohhh....ahhhhh!
"Do you think it will make it, Joshua?" (take note of the bumpers...and they were still surprised everytime they knocked the pins down!)
"Ball too heavy son,? For Heaven's sake pull up your pants! You're beginning to look like the natives!"
Very cool score on that second game!
The 91 Threepeat:
Leon told me that I'm not allowed to tell the story of how he slipped across the line and busted his butt...it was so funny, you HAD to be there! I was gracious to my dh and did not take pictures while he was down. Course that was really because someone had to help me off the floor from falling down laughing!!!
