We do one basket for the family and a little something special at each place on the table.

Resurrection Rolls
EASTER RESURRECTION ROLLS Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1 pkg. Crescent rolls
Melted butter
Large marshmallows
CinnamonSugar
Give each child a triangle of crescent rolls.
The crescent roll represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in.
Give each child a marshmallow.
This represents Jesus and His purity.
Have the child dip the marshmallow in melted butter.
This represents the oils of embalming.
Then dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar.
This represents the spices used to anoint the body.
Then wrap up the coated marshmallow TIGHTLY in the crescent roll (not like a typical crescent roll-upĂ˝.but bring the sides up & seal the marshmallow inside)
This represents the wrapping of Jesus' body after death.
Place in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 mins.
The oven represents the tomb. Pretend like it was three days!
When the rolls have cooled slightly, the children can open their rolls (cloth) and discover that Jesus is no longer there, HE IS RISEN! The marshmallow melts and the crescent roll is puffed up, but empty.

Hydraulic Cycle
The boys ran around on the ground shouting, "I'm salt water in the ocean!"
Then as they climbed the slide they shouted, "I'm evaporating and leaving the salt and minerals behind me!"
At the top of the slide they shouted, "I'm condensing into clouds!"
They slid down the slide shouting, "I'm precipitation falling in the form of _______" and they'd take turns being "snow" or "hail".
Their laughter and smiles just made my day. I'm so glad I took the time to do this with them.

The Next President of the USA
"I want to be president so I can set the black people free."
I think someone got lost in a history book today....
Look Who Spent the Day With Us
Someone please give this boy a little sister! He NEEDS one!
He needs one "REAL BAD!"
Jeremiah asks, "Can't we keep this one?"
Oh my she is precious! I adore her beautiful eyes and rose bud mouth. And she was such a sweet, cuddly little girl.
We had such a nice day together.
*sigh* I've got the baby bug...

The Elusive Smile
Yesterday at the park I tried to get some nice pictures of my studious daughter. The writing class wanted inspiration for their poetry lessons so we went to the park (see yesterday's post). She worked so hard and her poetry was so lovely.

Honolulu Lunch
These were a gift from a very lovely family I met from Hawaii: taro pancakes, coconut syrup, and yummy candies afterwards for a treat.
The syrup is milky in color and ooohhh sooo yummy!
Mmmnnn Mmmnnn good!
The candy was good too!
And the timing couldn't have been better as we had just studied how Hawaii became a state!

Storm Watchers
Tonight there were a series of storms with tornado warnings. I am freakishly cautious of tornado warnings...probably from my life in Oklahoma...and movies like "Twister."
We could see the storms off in the distance. It is pretty cool to watch. At this point there is "circular activity" but no actual tornado sightings.
But see? I am freakishly cautious. Terrified even. I wonder how many other mothers made thier kids sit in the hallway with blankets. They didn't mind. I also let them play their Gameboys. On a weeknight. For them it was a special occasion.
