Small Town Christmas Parade

Parade's are fun. Especially our annual small town Christmas Parade.

I enjoyed coffee on the sidewalk with my closest friends.

The boys marched in the parade with Boy Scout Troop...

...and Cub Scout Pack.

After they got to the end of the line, they ran back up to catch some candy and socialize with friends.

Then Santa came through. The kids were all so thrilled! "It's him!"

If your small town has an annual parade, don't shrug it off. Get out there and greet your neighbors! Indulge your inner child and enjoy it!

The Drive Home

We had a white Christmas! The very first white Christmas for any of my kids. It made the drive home from Mom and Dad's very interesting.

One last look and wave goodbye!

All is clear on the highway!

The kids love long drives.

Creedmoor Christmas Parade

I love parades. I love marching bands and decorated floats. I just love parades. There's not too many things that give me a warm feeling of small town living than a small town parade.

A Trip to the Hair Salon

Leon sent me off to the hair salon today. He's been wanting me to go get a cut for a while. He's just sweet like that and wanted me to do something for myself.

So here is my before picture from last week.

I love my little town and it's been a little while since I last posted about it. Main Street is my favorite place. Today, I decided to venture out and try a new hair salon. I definitely knew I wanted to go to one here in town. There are actually a few to choose from...but The Beehive Salon has had my curiosity for a while now. It's in such a cute location. I love this building. It's one of my favorites on Main Street.

I really enjoyed my day! Meredith was an absolute gem and made me feel so comfortable. I also found out we are neighbors! Hooray!

Photobucket

I love my haircut! It feels so light and comfortable! I was starting to get headaches from the length and always pulling it back.

Photobucket

It's fun! I can do so much with it!

Christmas Parade

Apparently the local clinic had more sense than most.

Our scouts marched in the parade. Jeremiah got to walk behind the mayor and throw toys from out of the back of his trunk.

Here comes the rest of the pack.

This is a pretty float with a very sad story. You can google it if you want to.

My friend Skyla likes parades. She also likes candy.

Here he comes!

Spring 2009 Car Show

Leon took the kids up to the car show on Main St. The boys had been looking forward to this event for over a month.

2009 Car Show

It was all that they dreamed it would be.

Even Kelsea had a good time.

And you KNOW you live in Mayberry when this is entered in the car show.

I on the other hand enjoyed a nice quiet morning with a cup of coffee catching up with friends on the internet.

Journey Through Town

The kids and I walked to the grocery store today. We were supposed to walk to the park, but they didn't finish their chores in time.

We walked a little downtown first. This is an old mill about two blocks from my house. I think it makes this the industrial disctrict? It's a neat looking building. It usually looks dead in the afternoon but I've seen several trucks there in the early am. You can't see it well, but there's a Purina sign behind the street sign.

Mayberry

Back of the mill.

Mayberry

This teeny tiny cemetery is the neatest thing. It's right between two small houses but not far from a big beautiful old house (I'll get pics of it next time).

Mayberry

But the neatest part about this cemetery is the sign in front. I love history and this town is full of it.

Here are my pack mules...I mean lovely children.

I did treat my workforce to a nice cold cola. They each split a can.
