Target Practice

We made our own target out of hay bales, burlap, and brass paper fasteners. It was so easy. You can read more about how it was done over at my Zombie blog here

We spent quite a while at target practice on Christmas Day. The boys got a pellet gun and a compound bow for Christmas. Joshua got a bb gun from my brother for Christmas.

The weather was beautiful the next day, so we headed back out for a longer practice session. You can see our target improved as time went by.

The girl came out to shoot with us. Her brother helped her. He even pet her to show his affection.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite past-times with the kids.

Christmas Day

Many might be surprised to learn that Leon is the first one up on Christmas Day. He gets everyone up before 5am. Few would be surprised to learn that he makes everyone clean their rooms before heading downstairs. haha.

We always start with the stockings. We go through them one at at time. Then we spend a few minutes relishing our goodies.

Then we open presents, one at at time; stretching out Christmas as long as we can.

After all, we're in no hurry. We have all day to relax and enjoy each others company.

I always love the inspired homemade gifts the best. Although it was a close call to the professional Kitchen-aide mixer that I've been hinting about all season.

Jeremiah has a new impersonation. He calls it: Elvis, The King. I told him he need to work on his lip curl just a little bit more. ;-)

Christmas Eve

In keeping with family tradition, the kids got to open a present on Christmas Eve. It's usually a family oriented gift like a board game or movie.

Then Leon and I send the kids off to bed so we can stuff stockings, wrap presents, and place everything "just so". We also take a few minutes to do any pre-dinner preparations.

This year I overbought for their stockings...and for future reference: books don't fit in our stockings very well. So I had to improvise.
